Thread to discuss our most awesome women's team.
.
The women's team will play Alabama in the first round of the NIT on Thursday in Tuscaloosa.
The winner will play either Southern Miss or Little Rock.
Go Bears!

That didn't go well. But a good season for the women.

If the WBB Bears keep winning, it might not matter if they win the SoCon tournament. They very well could get an at large.

Latest ESPN Bracketology for WBB has the Bears at #12, which is typically a bubble position but they would likely be in even if they lost the SoCon tournament, in my opinion. Less meaningful, they are projected to play Stanford in Athens, Georgia. www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/bracketology

Nice write-up there... 3. Mercer (22-2, 9-0 Southern)Amidst a field of familiar names that are here most seasons, Mercer is the newbie. It hasn't been to any NCAA tournament since 1985 and that lone trip was to the Division II tournament. But these Bears show no signs of slowing down with February upon us. They rolled through what could have been a difficult road swing to East Tennessee State and Chattanooga, beating both opponents by at least 20 points. At a combined 37.2 points per game, KeKe Calloway and Kahlia Lawrence can hobnob with Mississippi State's Teaira McCowan and Victoria Vivians (38.9 PPG), Oregon's Ruthy Hebard and Sabrina Ionescu (36.7 PPG) and Louisville's Asia Durr and Myisha Hines-Allen (34.4 PPG), among some other elite duos. Last week: No. 5

Stayed at #31 in the AP Top 25, but lost one vote. Again WTH? And Belmont moved into the Top 25. I don't get that. Belmont beat a weak Vandy early in the season. Is OVC stronger than SoCon? According to Sagarin, Belmont's SOS is #243 while MU's is #270. So both are weak but not that big of a difference between the two. www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/rankings/_/week/15/seasontype/2
