I'm a native Middle Georgian who now lives near Lexington, and I must say it was very much a pleasure to see so many folks from home rooting on the Bears on Saturday. I hope everyone had a good time as the area is full of significant historical sites and natural beauty.
My observations concerning the Bears are thus: Once Mercer gets their full compliment of scholarship players, they should be at or near the top of the Socon year in and year out. Their natural recruiting area is just too rich in football talent for them not to be a powerhouse. Also, it wouldn't hurt any for them to get a few Mary Persons Bulldogs on the team.
