I think Mercer will be fine. Very strong in defense; Army is systematically a tough matchup for Mercer right now. Another game with a sack and tackles for loss; much improved from the past. I am still not sold offensively. Getting behind on the chains and in the score puts you at a disadvantage. Tried to loosen them up this week at first, but still going to be challenging even in conference. However, they have time to polish things up for the spring and I would expect their to be a vast improvement. Should compete in the SoCon this year and I believe next year we will see a difference.

Yep
D played well, overall & is going to be a real strength. For the 1st time seeing a Triple option O & how well they contained JaxSt, they have acquitted themselves extremely well this Fall. Army only had just over 200 yds rushing before their final time-sucking (over 10 minutes), 17 play, 91 yard final scoring drive with their 3-5’s vs. Mercer’s 2’s & 3’s. All of their earlier scoring drives, other than the long TD pass, were short-field (40 yds or so) due to INT’s and/or Punting miscues and/or a long-ish KOR + 15 yd penalty.
Have to fix Punting execution ... or don’t Punt.
O-Line needs to continue to mature. Army’s quickness up front bothered them a bit.
Was glad to see Peavy get some reps @ QB. Would have put him in 1 series earlier and run the O as if the score was 0-0, instead of 35-3 (before the pick 6). I think this O looks a lot different in the Spring with Robert Riddle as the TriggerMan.
