Today's win at The Citadel gives the Bears 35 on the season. This marks the 8th straight year of at least 35 wins for Mercer. I thought I heard someone say only 6 other teams in college baseball has ever done that. Pretty awesome.

Today's win at The Citadel gives the Bears 35 on the season. This marks the 8th straight year of at least 35 wins for Mercer. I thought I heard someone say only 6 other teams in college baseball has ever done that. Pretty awesome. I liked that stat that the El Cid Announcer was quoting...almost as much as I liked Matt Meeder scoring the winning run today.... But you know FUBeAR and stats AND that I have a deep-rooted mistrust of all things Bellhop-related, so I had to check/verify. Here's the real story (if I didn't make any mistakes)... As of tonight, Mercer is the ONLY NCAA D1 Baseball Team that has won at least 35 games in each season since 2009-2010 - the past 8 seasons. There are only 7 other Teams that have a chance to equal that mark this season...and here's where they stand currently in 2017... Team | Wins | Losses | Winning % | Mercer | 35 | 7 | 0.833 | Virginia | 33 | 10 | 0.767 | LSU | 27 | 14 | 0.659 | Southeastern LA | 24 | 15 | 0.615 | Florida St | 25 | 16 | 0.610 | Vanderbilt | 25 | 16 | 0.610 | Miami FL | 19 | 20 | 0.487 | Rice | 16 | 25 | 0.390 |
Clearly, the point is that Mercer Baseball has been on a heckuva run and any Bear can legitimately claim that, as of tonight, his/her Bears have been the most consistently winning team in all of NCAA D1 Baseball over the past 8 seasons.
